In this session facilitators (Vanessa Copa (Bolivia), Josh Nielsen (Australia), Wikke Novalia (Indonesia) from Monash University, Australia) will utilise a case study, group discussions, and a debate to begin a dialogue around the advantages and challenges of each approach in developing cities.The round table discussions will be preceded by a presentation introducing the case study.To start our learning path, the organising partners will start with providing an International, Regional, and National perspective on the water sector.
All (willing) delegates will be placed in teams which will then compete against each other in various interactive games involving, or related to, water.
IWA is developing a Basin Action Agenda which will provide guidance pathways to influence and activate utilities, cities and their industries to become water stewards working with basin and catchment organisations, as well as other water management stakeholders (e.g. The objective of the proposed workshop is to have a working session which actively provides inputs and perspectives of YWPs from different sectors on how end-users including cities, utilities and industries can play a key role in securing water resources and their efficient use for the benefits of all water users across a catchment.
This discussion will inform the IWA Basin Action Agenda which is driven by the IWA and its members and partners and will be finalised for the 2018 IWA World Water Congress in Tokyo.
